A Pattern of Tyranny & the War Machine of the West

peace hand

The political game of the United States has become a spectator sport for the People of a once great country.  We watch in the comfort of our homes as our politicians feign leadership, while wielding a war machine that was never meant to be.   On the heels of shattered promises, we find ourselves in familiar territory as President Obama makes his case for war once again.  A case that eerily echoes the controversy of Bush’s WMDs and Iraqi despotism at the beginning of this dysfunctional story.

But unlike the coalition of his predecessor in 2003, Obama’s recent, seemingly strong, coalition of support now wavers in the wake of a devastating defeat in the halls of the British Commons. Britain’s lawmakers have decided not to follow us into our attack on Syria.  So why the change of heart?  Could it be Britain and the rest of the world have begun to recognize the inconsistencies of United States regurgitated rhetoric.  Or maybe it is due to the deplorable decision-making of our so-called democratic practitioners.

In either case the world now waits for the evidence we hold against Syria.  All of us have been promised this evidence, a so-called proof that has apparently laid the groundwork for these future strikes on Syria, but in our foolish anticipation for the smoking gun, what we shall soon find is that the United States is the only one whose finger is on any trigger. A lone gunman, on a global stage, in a perilous drama of playback politics, and recycled rhetoric. It’s players, playing for an audience of fools and fanatics, acting out the script given to them and those who came before. A bitter cast of thugs and thieves driving a war machine that no longer represents the best interests of the American People and the world.

The People of the world are waking up and recognizing that United States aggression around the globe is not rooted in heroism but hubris. In our fight for Freedom, it is not Freedom we dispense but rather it is tyranny, a tyranny that continues to impose its will upon the world in the pursuit of selfish gain.  A tyranny that represents the worst parts of human nature and neglects to nurture the best aspects of what humans can be.

So let the dogma of United States democracy, no longer close its doors to dissent, and let us stand in opposition to the warmongering tactics of our lost leaders.  Protest war proliferation, call your Congress, speak out against attacking Syria , stand up for Liberty and fight against the despotism of overgrown military establishments such as this one. If our capacity for peace was developed as well as our capacity for war, just imagine what we might achieve. John Lennon once said “War is Over if You Want It.”  The Fight for Freedom is ours to fight, We the People have the power to drive the decisions of our Leaders but it requires action and to win the fight we must break our silence.

Just. B.

“Overgrown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to liberty” George Washington.

Politics, Protests and the People: An Evolution of Political Influence

Taksim Square Protest

The recent events of NSA spying, the scandal of IRS targeting, Obama’s drone wars and the Taksim Square protests in Turkey have only helped to further illuminate the growing rift between the global political system and it’s People. We the people of the world have become a caged bird squawking at our freedom through the bars of our conditioning.  The People’s hopes have been hung out to dry, becoming tattered and torn in the winds of a so-called “change”. In the ashes of our disappointment, a renovated “hope” will once again rise to be sold in its place. Continuing the conversation and further sustaining our controller’s financial and political pursuits for another 4 to 8 years. Faced with this disappointment there are still many conditioned citizens, fiends of a fraudulent Freedom, which continue to be doped up and addicted to an illusion of social progress, awaiting their next fix of political heroes and heroines.  And while many will likely rush out to the polls next election to get a fix of gender equality, as female hopefuls like Hillary Clinton and others make their way to the main stage, there is fortunately a growing number of individuals that have begun to recognize the political pageantry and posturing put forth by our so-called leaders of the free world.  How long will we allow these pushers of pre-packaged progress to hold sway over our ideas and beliefs?

This culture of corruption in the world has climbed to new heights and has begun breaking down the controls and conditioning that have captured the hearts of the people for far too long.  The credibility of our controllers has become laughable and the people are beginning to look to their leaders with disdain and disbelief, rather than with pride and praise.  Everyday we come ever closer to the realization that no one can represent us, in the same way that we can represent ourselves. A new evolution in human consciousness is upon us and we look to new ways to break old molds.  Information will be our saving grace in our pursuit for true democracy, in this political landscape which hinges upon the deceptive practices of its contributors.

As the democratization of information continues to revolutionize the cultural constructs of yesterdays past, we stand on the cusp of a new epoch in the intellectual development of the human species and thankfully 2 Billion plus people around the world are now apart of a global conversation.  A conversation which informs, entertains, and documents the story of the people.  The technological manifestations of our intellect are changing the ways with which we interact with each other and the world.  American engineer and Intel entrepreneur Peter Diamandis has explained that new technologies will soon democratize production globally, leading to a new paradigm of abundance. In this same thread we are seeing a democratization of political power and influence as well, which is leading to an abundance of information and innovation. The death of history lies on the horizon as the global village begins to document their own story, narrating their own past, present and future, free from the hands of a dominant class.

While this normalization of power proliferates, it continues to present new and unexpected challenges for the political paradigm of our global society. We as a collective are beginning to realize the true nature of our influence and are beginning to exercise that influence as a path to political, social and economic change. Modern finance is evolving as we attempt to free it from the bondage of banking institutions and government controls with the advent of new money technologies like that of Bitcoin. The internet is developing new voices which have never before been heard, that now echo across the airwaves and inhabit the brainwaves of street rats and fat cats alike.

Change is in the chatter, so let us join the conversation and evolve. Our growing collective is manifesting new realities by the minute which we then reinvent, refine and re-define for the global community.  This global conversation is projecting new ideologies everyday into the ether of the internet for each of us to consume, transform, and re-innovate for further reproduction.  We are living on the cusp of an intellectual infinite where every person on the earth will have the ability to access information, incorporate innovations, and proliferate their own progress into the human story being laid out in front of us all. We are here to bear witness to a great revolution in the human spirit where a change of guard awaits us, in a future of self-representation and self-expression. So let us create our place in the hallways of history, by speaking the Truth, fighting for Freedom and collectively developing a reality which reflects the true nature of our ideals.  Tune out of the Tyranny, turn onto the Truth and drop out of a system that has nothing to do with who you are.  Stand for yourself and for those around you, and let us change the world.

NDAA, Drone Strikes and the Death of Freedom

Gallows

It could be argued that the United States began it’s descent decades ago, spiraling out of control into the depths of its own misconduct and manipulation.  But, there is one distinct moment that lives on in the collective memory that marks the fall of an Empire of Freedom & Justice, it was the moment on September 11, 2001 at 9:59 am when the south tower fell and with it fell the idealism and aspirations of a young country.  In that moment the world was united, but soon the whole world would witness the decline of an American century, the degradation of an American value system steeped in a long history of Justice, Equality & Freedom.

The next year would bring the Patriot Act and the establishment of the Guantanamo Bay Detention center. The trauma and tragedy of a single event would bring forth a new era of American oppression and like the shifting scenes of a bad dream, Americans would find themselves struggling to keep up with an ever-changing landscape of an American legal system that was slowly doing away with the Bill of Rights.  Propaganda would propel the delusions of an entire nation that struggled to believe that they still stood for Freedom and Justice.

Almost an entire decade would be dedicated to the pursuits of war and terror, but the Presidential elections of 2008 would bring a reinvigoration of hope to the nation.  Promises of peace and diplomacy were the rhetoric of the day, but time would soon turn the tide on the political pandering of the populace.  We have now come to witness what the peace and diplomacy of this administration has to offer. We continue to lose rights with draconian laws like that of the  NDAA with its indefinite detentions and the death of Habeus Corpus.

In addition to the provisions of the NDAA, drone strikes on foreign nations are stretching the limits of International humanitarian law and show blatant disregard for the Geneva Conventions.  Americans now stand knee deep in the blood of 4,700 dead from these drone strikes, 178 of which are dead children, while civilian deaths have been reported as high as 800.   If our declarations of war upon foreign nations were not enough, our leaders now deem it legal to use lethal force on American citizens on U.S. soil.

Following a 13 hour filibuster concerning this issue, Thursday Senator Rand Paul declared victory when he received notice from Attorney General Eric Holder that the President would not use lethal force on “non-combatant” United States citizens.  Unfortunately, I do not share Senator Paul’s enthusiasm, as this still leaves the door open for the possibility of lethal force against American citizens.  This elaborate dog and pony show only assumes the act of opposition and provides one more public presentation of legal justification for the unconstitutional acts of a despotic leadership.

This marks a new era in American politics.  The battlefield now on American shores and a declaration of war made by the Government against its own citizens.   With questionable war tactics and failed human rights policies we join the ranks of the oppressors of history, a new chapter in the book of tyrants who have made it their practice of showing indifference to the world.  Kings attempt to masquerade as common men, but no mask can hide the true intentions of a tyrant.  Freedom hangs in the gallows and the citizens of the world look on with disgust.  We must rise against the despotism of the new American war machine otherwise we too will hang alongside Freedom in the gallows.

Turmoil, R-evolution, & The Change

Watch, Speak, Change… (Photo credit: kevindean)

We the People are incrementally losing our power at the hands of the wealthy Wall street swindlers, corrupt corporations and their political front men, who work tirelessly to strip every citizen of their rights, wealth, and privacy. Between banker bailouts and unconstitutional law-making, our government is slowly becoming a breeding ground for more corruption and the possibility of future tyranny. The Patriot Act was the first to blatantly strip American citizens of their Constitutional rights under George W. Bush’s watch, with its unconstitutional surveillance provisions. Recently, President Obama and others have taken this a step further with the signing of the NDAA, which allows the U.S. government to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely with no trial and no evidence.  We have TSA naked body scanners, and soon police departments and government agencies will have the legal right to fly unmanned drones to spy on the American people. There was once a time when our representative government bridged the gap between the people and their leaders, but that time has passed. We now are faced with a new era of “taxation without representation.” Albert Pike in the opening paragraph of his Magnus Opus Morals & Dogma explained that the people are much like gunpowder scattered across a field, that when lit, merely fizzles. He said that it was up to the guardians of society to pack the gunpowder into a small chamber, only then could the people’s power be at its fullest potential. It was this explosion of power, he said that drove real changes within society. Much like the alchemist believes that fire is the element of change, right now we are witnessing all of society ablaze with anger, frustration, and discontent. A new revolution is on the horizon, and it is my belief that, this new revolution hinges upon our continued ability to access information freely. The Internet and our ability to access, distribute, and consume information is the greatest development of human consciousness in our history. This new freedom is currently under attack, and a new struggle is underway, it is a struggle between the common man and woman and those that are in power who are fighting for the control of the information and knowledge. In a world of no privacy and full transparency, it is only right that We the People require the same transparency from those that supposedly rule us. We must keep a close watch on our politicians and law-makers, as we are on the fron lines of a great battle.

This attack upon the Internet and the freedom of information with SOPA, PIPA, TTP, etc. shows that our leaders do not want us to take part in the revolution of information, but instead want to own the airwaves and control what is said, read, and seen. We refuse your ownership, this is no longer the domain of an economic elite, but rather the domain of all humans. The internet provides a level playing ground for all who contribute and consume. It is a court for the prince and pauper to share common ground, it is human freedom in action, and it requires all involved to do their best to protect it. The great thinkers of the Age of Enlightenment in all their achievements could not have foreseen the troubles of our time. This of course does not imply we disregard that which has brought us thus far, but rather utilize what they contributed to mankind as our foundation for the free thought of the future.  Isaac Newton once said that the reason for his achievements was due to his ability to stand upon the shoulders of giants. We now stand upon the shoulders of giants, so it is up to us to decide what we do with such a place in history. Do we withdraw into the shadows of our fear and complacency, or do we stand to the call and work together as a unified movement fighting for our ability to access the dirty, raw and unforgiving truth. It is my hope that we all stand watch and squelch the flame that the guardians wish to light. We the People have the power to drive our own social change, and no longer do we need to be the pawns of princes and presidents.  Instead we must take our place of power as the One and the many, the individual and the collective, and use our voice as the catalyst for change. A change in humanity that gives equal precedence to all that speak, and champions only those who contribute to all of society, instead of those that hawk and hunt the meek. The World is ours to shape, but we must fight for our freedom to shape it, and work to shape a World of Equality and Justice.

Watch, Speak, Change.

Just. B.
